Let me introduce myself…….

I’m Risha, just another citizen of Australia.

My husband Justin was a qualified industrial electrician and an avid animal lover.

I always joked with him and told him that he was in the wrong profession and that he should be a Zoologist.

But as fate may have it, on Father’s Day in 2012, our lives changed forever in a split second, preventing Justin from ever working as an electrician again. It was a freak accident, one I still can’t believe was ever possible. Justin leaned over to put a teaspoon into the dishwasher and broke his back. 2 years of operations and complications followed, and Justin wasn’t allowed to work as an electrician again.

…….. That’s when NIKI, our Beautiful Alexandrine Parrakeet came into our lives, bringing a long-awaited smile back onto Justin’s face. Niki was only 3 weeks old when she came into our lives. Her pins were just popping out and she required weaning. So, Justin weaned and tamed her, and Niki became Justin’s pride and joy. As Niki grew, so did Justin’s zest for life.

One day during breakfast, I watched Justin feeding and kissing Niki and I said, “Justin, why don’t I open a Bird Boarding business and then you could give all my birds that love that you seem to have in abundance”? Justin’s face lit up and he couldn’t contain his excitement.

……. And that’s how Bella Bird Boarding came about.
